Since its first public screening in Cape Town, Miners Shot Down has been receiving a lot of media attention, with numerous articles being written for a variety of publications.
One of the most compelling of these articles was written by Palesa Morudu for the Business Day. In this article she asserted that, “anyone who wants to understand South Africa today would do well to watch this film”. The article is appropriately entitled We cannot wish away miners and Marikana, as Morudu states that, “the visibly angry reaction of the audience was a clear sign that Marikana cannot be wished away as an aberration.”
